Mental Health Advocacy & Clinical Foundation

Richetti Jones brings more than a decade of experience as a mental health advocate, working to support individuals, families, and student-athletes in navigating pressure, identity, and life transitions. His work has consistently centered on helping people develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience in high-demand environments.

Through his role as a Division I college football professional and current Director of Player Development, Richetti has worked closely with student-athletes navigating the realities of high-level performance, pressure, and personal challenges. In many cases, he encountered athletes struggling with significant mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and, at times, severe emotional dysregulation and manic episodes.

These experiences were not theoretical; they were real, immediate, and impactful. They revealed the critical need for deeper knowledge, preparation, and professional training to properly support the whole student-athlete.

Driven by this responsibility, Richetti pursued and earned his Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling in 2026, ensuring he is not only a mentor and leader, but also properly trained, prepared, and equipped to support the mental and emotional well-being of the students he serves.

This advanced training allows Trust The Process Mentoring & Consulting to go beyond motivation and surface-level development by integrating:

  • Social-emotional learning (SEL) principles

  • Mental health awareness and early intervention strategies

  • Emotional regulation and coping skill development

  • Identity formation and self-concept clarity

  • Healthy decision-making under pressure

By intentionally embedding mental health advocacy into programming, Trust The Process helps schools:

  • Proactively address student anxiety, burnout, and identity confusion

  • Equip students with practical tools to manage stress and emotions

  • Create environments where mental health is understood, normalized, and supported

  • Align coaches, educators, and families with a shared language around well-being

Richetti’s approach is not to replace school counselors or clinical services, but to bridge the gap between mental health awareness and everyday student experience, especially within athletics, where performance pressures often mask deeper challenges.

This integration ensures that student development is not just performance-driven, but person-centered, sustainable, and rooted in long-term mental and emotional health.
